Executive, Executive - Associate Athletics Director
Barry University, Intercollegiate Athletics department is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics. The Assistant Director of Athletics job responsibilities include but are not limited to; day to day management of the department’s compliance program, assist with coordination of the CHAMPS/Life Skills program, provide assistance with game day management, manage the day-to-day operations of the department’s Motor Pool/ Team transportation (Buses), and work with Barry’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
•Remain current/monitor compliance rules and regulations of the NCAA, the SSC and the University. Department liaison with the SSC for rule interpretations and eligibility. Educate student-athletes, coaches, staff, friends, and supporters of the University on SSC and NCAA rules and regulations. Investigate transfer and possible transfer student-athletes through contacts with other institutions; oversee the requesting and granting of releases with other institutions, and assist in coordinating the Athletic Scholarships/NLI distribution and tracking.
•Manage the day-to-day operations of the department’s Motor Pool which includes 12 vehicles, including eight vans, two SUVs, one mini-van and customized van for men’s and women’s golf and Team transportation (Buses). Schedule vehicle usage by athletic teams as well as university programs. Develop and implement procedures and practices to improve to efficiency through scheduling and maintenance of the vehicles. Maintain accurate driving records for staff through Trusted Employee program. Also responsible for renting vans for long distance trips through Enterprise Corporate program.
•Update the BU Intercollegiate Athletic Compliance Manual, Student-Athlete Handbook & Camps and Clinics Manual.
•Supervise the Barry Student-Athlete Advisory Committee & CHAMPS/Life Skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in any field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
3-5 years of related experience.
Must have strong organizational skills.
Comfortable with executing paperwork for projects.
Excellent verbal and written Communication.
General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook as well as CA, LSDBi, Eligibility Center, and RSRO.
Technically proficient in all Office Equipment.
