Alvernia University, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, is accepting applications for the full-time position of Athletics Equipment & Operations Manager.
The Athletics Equipment & Operations Manager will manage all aspects of athletics equipment, uniforms, and other related supplies including purchasing, maintenance, inventory, and care, and will assist with the gameday operations of Alvernia’s 28-sport intercollegiate athletics program. Job requirements include meeting periodically with coaches to determine team’s equipment and supplies needs; managing all aspects of the purchasing process to including solicitation of quotes, completion of purchase orders, receiving, inventory, and storage to ensure balancing of appropriate budgets; fitting, issuing, maintaining, repairing, and collecting all athletic department uniforms and equipment; coordinating and overseeing the process for laundering all practice gear, uniforms, towels, etc., to support practices and games; maintaining a master inventory of all athletics equipment and uniforms and manage the uniform purchasing matrix; assisting with game and facility operations to include field setup, field marking/painting, and general light maintenance; and scheduling and managing student workers (work study) for laundry and game operations.
Attendance at selected practices, games, meetings, and events will be required. Position will also require occasional travel and the ability to work nights and weekends.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Related and/or transferable skills in an intercollegiate athletic department are preferred, as is AEMA Certification (or the ability to become certified within one year of appointment).
