The NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Softball Officials.
The Coordinator is responsible for oversight of all aspects of the women’s softball officiating program. The Conference currently has seven softball programs in the states of California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Utah. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and the Coordinator will serve as an independent contractor and does not need to be based in Utah.

Identify and recruit qualified officials.
Supervise, develop, train, mentor and evaluate officials.
Manage all conference and non-conference assignments for games hosted by Big Sky Conference institutions.
Submit assignments to the member institutions via an on-line web-based assigning system (ArbiterSports).
Recommend individuals for assignment in the Big Sky Conference and NCAA tournaments.
Manage all issues of dispute in a prompt and proactive manner in collaboration with the Conference office.
Serve as the Conference’s primary resource regarding NCAA rules as well as a liaison to the NCAA Softball Secretary-Rules Editor.
Develop year-end reports to include post-season evaluations, analysis of the state of the officiating program, NCAA tournament representation data and any suggested modifications to program.
Implement and monitor all softball policies as defined by the Conference.
Represent the Big Sky at NCAA and Conference meetings.
Prior to the start of the season, review all NCAA rules changes and Points of Emphasis with coaches and officials.
Present written reports on any current or potential issues to the Conference office in a timely manner.
Expert knowledge of NCAA Division I officiating rules mechanics.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to lead an officiating program that promotes teamwork, accountability, objectivity and ethical conduct.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with ArbiterSports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Telecommuting is allowed.
