The George Washington University is seeking a qualified post-graduate candidate for the position of Multimedia & Video Services Assistant. This position will be responsible for assisting with the video needs of the Department of Athletics, including shooting and editing video, content development for the purposes of marketing and communications, streaming games on RaiseHigh.tv and ESPN+ (which holds exclusive streaming rights for the A-10 Conference) and assisting with the in-game production of men’s and women’s basketball games.
Shoot and edit video content for GW Athletics across all platforms, including official website, social media accounts, in-venue video boards, and television
Coordinates the production and archiving of video highlight packages, vignettes and other features as relevant for GW Athletics
Assist with the live game production for in-venue video boards and camera operation in the Charles E. Smith Center
Assist with live streaming broadcasts through RaiseHighTV and ESPN+
Work with the marketing and communications teams to produce innovative and engaging content for social media platforms, including GIFs, animations, short videos, and other social media-specific content
Travel with select teams to provide video coverage during post-season tournaments
Have a working knowledge of Broadcast quality and DSLR-type cameras, emerging technologies, and proper lighting techniques for the purposes of producing high quality video content
Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications: Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including nights and weekends; Must have a working knowledge of sports video production; experience with a college or professional sports team; demonstrated video shooting, editing and production skills; an understanding of proper lighting techniques; an understanding of existing and emerging technology; outstanding communication and organizational skills; and experience with video editing systems such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro. Also must have a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Compensation: This is an hourly position paid at a rate of $15.00 per hour.
