Drexel University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Colonial Athletic Association, is accepting applications for the position of Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach.
1. Responsible for the overall planning and direction of the Women’s Lacrosse Program. 2. Teach, coach, train and motivate student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team and individual sessions. 3. Foster an environment within the Women’s Lacrosse program that supports the department mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence. 4. Select and successfully recruit student-athletes that meet the needs and growth of the program, department and institution. 5. Work with administrators, staff and coaches within the department of athletics to operate effectively within the structure of the organization. 6. Communicate with all constituents including staff, faculty, students, parents, alumni and friends. 7. Ensure that the program complies with all institution, CAA and NCAA rules and regulations. 8. Establish a strong foundation of alumni support and work with alumni board of directors to foster growth of the Drexel lacrosse community through fundraising and engagement. 9.Supervise and direct assistant coaches to support the direction of the program.
Successful background coaching lacrosse, preferably at the collegiate level.
Experience playing lacrosse at the collegiate level
Demonstrated ability to teach and instruct the skills and strategies of Women’s Lacrosse.
An understanding of the role of intercollegiate sports in a dynamic university setting.
Strong written, organization and communication skills.
Proven ability to provide strong leadership in managing the complexities of a team.
