Blue Mountain College is a NAIA Institution, member of the Southern States Athletic Conference, seeks applicants for the position of a Full-Time Head Women’s Softball Coach. The Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for managing all aspects of the softball program. Summary of Responsibilities: -Administration and coaching of the women’s softball program. -Manage the softball operating budget responsibly. -Enhance the development of the student-athlete’s softball skills through team practice and one-on-one instructions. -Oversee and implement all aspects of the recruiting process. -Monitor academic progress of the student-athletes. -Schedule softball games and practices. -Plan and organize team travel and game day preparation. -Responsible for the daily field preparation for practices and games. -Coordinate annual grass field maintenance with the Director of Athletic Facilities. -Supervise work study students. -Promote a favorable image of the College. -Fundraise for the women's softball program. -Coordinate softball camps. -Committed to College, Department of Athletics, SSAC and NAIA rules and regulations. -Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree. Master's preferred. Three to five years of intercollegiate softball coaching and recruiting experience. Head coaching experience preferred. Thorough understanding of the game and technical aspects in the sport of softball. Experience recruiting prospective student-athletes. Current knowledge of the rules and policies of the NAIA. Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification will be required within one month of starting.
