The successful candidate will lead all aspects of six NCAA Division II intercollegiate sport programs: men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s indoor track & field, and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field.
Responsibilities include: •Supervise and manage all track and field and cross country operations including, but not limited to, roster management, scheduling, travel operations, purchasing, budget management. •Work closely with support staff including athletic training and strength and conditioning for peak performance of the student-athletes. •Lead and manage assistant coaches including ongoing performance management reviews. •Organize, plan and conduct safe team training, practice and conditioning activities. •Produce quality teams capable of a representative finish in the respective NSIC Championships as determined by Athletics Administration. •Positively represent NSU at national, regional, state and local professional and service organization events. •Develop and manage ongoing alumni communication and fundraising activities in conjunction with the NSU Foundation and Athletics Administration. •Be responsible in all areas of team performance. •Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, NSIC, and institutional rules. •A commitment to excellence in coaching and community relations is expected, as coaches represent the Department of Athletics and the university in its overall promotion and public relations efforts.
NSU has a rich tradition of track & field/cross country success, with numerous All-Americans and multiple national champions. NSU is looking for a dynamic leader who will elevate these programs to the top tier of the highly competitive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
The Head Coach will be able to hire a full-time assistant coach who will assist in all administration and management of the programs. NSU also has a part-time throws coach, and 2 graduate assistants that will assist with coaching and operations of the programs, under the leadership of the Head Coach.

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Minimum of four years of coaching experience is required. Demonstrated ability to recruit and sign student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success also preferred.
