Syracuse University invites applicants for the position of Head Coach-Women's Rowing. This is a full time position responsible for the management and administration of the entire women’s rowing program in a manner that is in alignment with the mission, values and goals of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Must promote a culture of compliance and operate a program that adheres to the rules and regulations of the University, ACC, and NCAA.
Oversee the recruitment and selection of prospective student-athletes. Ensure compliance with all relevant NCAA guidelines pertaining to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, to include counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters when appropriate. Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes by working closely with the compliance and academic staff. Assist with accountability when needed.
Operate a program that is fiscally responsible and balances its budget. Oversee the selection and purchase of team apparel and capital equipment expenditures.
Schedule and conduct regular season practice and strength and conditioning as permitted by NCAA rules. Oversee the conditioning and training sessions, in conjunction with sports medicine and strength and conditioning, to ensure the student-athletes are physically prepared for competition. Arrange for a competitive competition schedule that places the team in a position to qualify for NCAA Championship competition.
Supervise assistant coaches and other staff that report to the Head Coach. Assist in fundraising as requested by administration. Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Athletics (or their designee).
Management and administration of the entire women’s rowing program. Includes providing leadership for staff, student-athletes and others. In addition to overseeing the boathouse and maintenance of major equipment throughout the year.
Schedule and conduct regular season practice, strength and conditioning, a competition schedule. Oversee all practices and attend all competitions.
Recruit prospective student-athletes that are academically and athletically prepared to contribute at Syracuse University.
Conduct a program that is compliance with NCAA rules and regulations and submit all relevant paperwork to the Compliance Office as needed.
