Bethune-Cookman University, an NCAA Division I member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, located in Daytona Beach, Florida, invites applications for a full time 12-month position as Head Women’s Bowling Coach in the Department of Athletics. The Head Women’s Bowling Coach is responsible to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics/ Senior Women’s Administrator, to organize and direct a Division I bowling program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coaching, recruiting, management of staff and student-athletes, budgeting and planning. The position also involves promotions, development of a summer camp program, effective practice and game condition teaching, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes in conjunction with departmental, university, MEAC and NCAA rules and mentoring.
The candidates must have a commitment to adhering to all rules and regulations of Bethune-Cookman University, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. In addition, the candidate must understand and actively support the mission of the Department of Athletics and Bethune-Cookman University. The candidate must also possess a strong moral character and an appreciation and willingness to work as a part of a team collaborating with colleagues in a highly competitive environment. The ability to work in a culturally diverse, Christian environment is also required.
Intercollegiate bowling playing experience preferred, and a minimum of three years intercollegiate coaching experience as an assistant or head coach required. Proven collegiate recruiting experience is a must. Excellent oral, written, leadership and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Employee must possess a valid driver’s license, current certification annually for NCAA recruiting and rules implementation and pass routine and random drug screening as mandated by the department of athletics.
