The University of Minnesota, Morris Intercollegiate Athletics seeks a full time, 10 month, Head Coach - Volleyball. This position will report to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and is an annually renewable professional and administrative appointment.
The Head Coach is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III volleyball program that advances the mission of intercollegiate athletics and the University. The head coach:
• Coaches student athletes and fosters their skill development; leads coaching plans and implementation at practices and competitions; fosters good sportsmanship and a climate of respect; provides for students’ safety, health and well-being; provides an environment that supports students in achieving their athletic, academic and life goals; oversees athlete development; and coordinates off-season programs.
• Works collaboratively with the Office of Admissions and other campus offices to coordinate a comprehensive recruitment and retention program for student athletes; builds and retains a diverse and talented team; fosters student persistence and success.
• Supervises part-time and volunteer assistant coaches and builds a shared vision for the program; assures compliance with NCAA, UMAC and university policies; provides sound fiscal management; supervises equipment oversight, scheduling, travel planning, and summer camps; and coordinates program communication and fundraising efforts with the Athletic Director and the Office of Advancement.
• Teaches in the Sport Studies and Athletics discipline within the Division of Education supporting the interdisciplinary Sports Management major.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master's degree is strongly preferred. Teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for the mission and value of a public liberal arts college, be self-directed and motivated, work with integrity, and bring skills and abilities needed to advance Cougar volleyball, the athletic program and the university.
