Frostburg State University Athletics Department is accepting applications for full-time Strength and Conditioning Intern positions to begin summer 2018. This is a 40-hour-per-week, one-year internship which is renewable for an additional year based on performance. Hourly rate $10.33 with limited benefits included.
FSU boasts 21 varsity sports (10 men/11 women) at the NCAA Division III level that compete in the Capital Athletic Conference and the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Frostburg strength & conditioning program is arguably the top program at the NCAA Division III level, with a full-time head coach, three interns, two graduate assistants, and numerous student interns. Frostburg’s weight room features 10 power racks and six Olympic platforms furnished with brand-new bumper plates. The strength staff handles not only the fitness programs for all varsity sports, but also works with members of the entire campus community.
Responsibilities: Fitness and Weight Room facility management; develop the physical strength, endurance, flexibility, and agility of FSU student-athletes; program design customized to each sport’s specific needs; provide direct instruction to athletes, as well as provide assessment and feedback, in order to assure proper execution of training techniques. Document athletes’ workouts; provide and assist in the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; advise on prevention and care of athletic injuries; other related administrative duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of coaching or other related work experience in the strength and conditioning or fitness field. Current National Strength and Conditioning Association CSCS certification. Previous competing experience at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and/or two years of coaching experience in the strength and conditioning or fitness field.
