The Graduate Assistant for Men’s Lacrosse is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to recruiting, scheduling, training, monitoring academic progress, promotions, fundraising and coaching team members. The graduate assistant is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by St. Ambrose University, the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), of which St. Ambrose is a member.
The candidate should have a strong background and prior coaching experience on the defensive side of the field.
• Assisting in all aspects of the coaching and management of the program • Recruiting and scouting in accordance with the NAIA, KCAC and St. Ambrose policies and procedures • Train and coach members of the program • Supporting the academic and personal development of all athletes • Assist in developing camps and clinics • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations of the NAIA • Represent St. Ambrose and the program in a professional manner
• Earned Bachelor’s degree prior to start date • Successful acceptance into a SAU graduate program • Represent St. Ambrose and the program in a professional manner • High level of personal integrity and outstanding work ethic • Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations • Knowledge of lacrosse specific skills and technique • Experience recruiting scholarship athletes highly desirable • Outstanding skills in oral and written communication • Good organizational ability and computer competency
