Oversee the operation of all purchasing in compliance with institutional laws & regulations. Generate accurate reports regarding expenses in the athletic department with a budget. Act as financial advisor to the 40 departments including 18 varsity sports regarding budgeting and give direction on steps to complete purchases. Coordinate and process daily deposits for all non-ticket related revenues within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Serve as the p-card coordinator for the Athletic Department for the state credit card system. Manage leases for various campus and off-campus rentals utilized by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Serve as back-up for the Game Advance Account, compiling cost transfers based on expenditures by departmental activity and line item. Serve as the primary liaison for all Sports Camps. Manage deposit functions and the e-commerce online registration functions for Sports Camps. Maintain policies and procedures regarding business office functions for sports camps and clinics. Oversee all Clearing Account activity. Work with Athletic Ticket Office on preparing revenue deposits, issuing refunds, running ticketing reports and management of ticket buyer data. Assist with the Student Ticketing data base software. Collect and compile complex financial information to prepare financial reports. Manage and reconcile team and business unit expenses.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required. Two (2) years of experience with generally accepted accounting practices including:
interpretation & problem resolution.
use of computers and programs such as with spreadsheets and database related programs.
Equivalent years of graduate assistant experience is acceptable. Ability to gain and maintain Knowledge of State P-card Policies and procedures, Intercollegiate Athletics Procedures, West Virginia State Code, Financial Accounting Policies and Procedures. Demonstrated the ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations. Demonstrated the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Demonstrated the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups including Deans, Directors, staff, vendors as well as University administration including but not limited to Budget Planning, Finance, Payment Services. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and set priorities regarding various deadlines and the amount of work to be accomplished. Expert skills in financial management, planning, budgeting and accounting.
