Set-up and manage concessions events at Matthew Knight Arena, Hayward Field and Jane Sanders Stadium. Manage all catering operations for the Concessions Department. Supervise classified employee, volunteer employees and student /part-time employees. The position will report to the Food and Beverage Director. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, Pac-12 Conference and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements • Five years of relevant food service/catering management experience. • Ability to obtain Oregon Liquor Control Commission servers permit and obtain local Food Handlers Card. • Valid driver’s license. It is required to have a valid Oregon’s Driver’s License within 90 days of employment, and to successfully receive a University of Oregon’s Drivers Certification card. It is required that this license be maintained throughout employment with the Athletic Department.
Professional Competencies • Effective oral and written communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree or Culinary Degree from accredited university. • Demonstrated history managing marketing elements that include product, price, portion, and production decision. • Experience leading, training and evaluating a part-time and not-for-profit volunteer workforce. • A successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds • ServSafe certified. • Experience managing commercial kitchen facilities. • Working knowledge of Micros point of sale equipment and Tangent reporting systems.
