The University of Connecticut, Division of Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a paid internship position in the Athletic Facilities and Operations Office. This position will report to the Director of Facilities. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: maintenance and upkeep of the various athletic facilities; manage work orders and building systems such as access control and security; assist with project management, working closely with University Facility Services personnel and outside vendors as required. This position will involve necessary coverage for the large-scale events in Gampel Pavilion (i.e. basketball games, Commencement, other large University events). This includes game/event management responsibilities for select sports, payroll for students and staff, and outside event rentals. This intern will also assist with projects as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree; 1-2 years of prior facility management and event operations experience; knowledge and ability to adhere to policies and procedures of the University of Connecticut, its conferences and the NCAA; possess strong organizational, communication and time-management skills; ability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings required; perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:Division I collegiate or professional facility management and event operations experience.
