Executive, Executive - Associate Athletics Director

Washington State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Senior Associate Director of Athletics (Associate Athletic Director) for all aspects of external affairs within WSU Athletics. This position serves as a member of the Athletic Director’s senior management team.
This position is responsible for oversight and management of External Affairs Operations, including but not limited to Sports Information, Ticket Operations, Sports Video, Marketing and Promotions. In conjunction with the Director of Athletics, this position develops and implements external affairs strategic plans and evaluates plan/program effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, administrative, business, liberal arts, social sciences, or related discipline plus five (5) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the particular unit, including two (2) years of supervisory responsibility. Any combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the required education. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations. Minimum five years experience working in college athletics in progressively responsible leadership positions and/or external affairs. Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated management and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in related field. Demonstrated public speaking skills. Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, co-workers, and constituents. Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, E-mail, and Internet. Demonstrated annual goal setting with successful completion.
