Marietta College is an independent, selective, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college of 1,200 graduate and undergraduate students located in the historic river city of Marietta, Ohio. Marietta College seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Softball Coach/Instructor. This position assists the Head Coach in managing all phases of an NCAA, Division III softball program with the following specific responsibilities:
Understand, support and embody the team's overarching philosophy as developed by the Head Coach
Coach position group as assigned by Head Coach (most likely pitching coach) using individual skill and team development techniques
Recruiting Coordinator--generate prospects, update database, send out mailings, provide weekly recruiting schedule, and delegate some duties to other coaches
Assist planning practice
Assist game planning for each opponent
Scout opponents by analyzing video and/or traveling to games
Teach a 1-credit skill class each semester
Perform athletic department duties as assigned by the athletic director. Such duties may include: game day management, facility supervision, intramural supervision, sports information assistance or other.
This position is also expected to: uphold the high professional standards of conduct expected of each person on campus as outlined in our Employee Handbook; attend staff meetings, faculty meetings, and serve on committees; and build positive interpersonal relationships inside and outside of the athletic department by participating in College functions, including professional, cultural and social.
This position will include some forms of labor that involve lifting weighted objects and getting hands and clothing dirty. Frequent evening and weekend work is also expected.

Bachelor's degree and collegiate playing experience
Ability to successfully impart knowledge and instigate learning in student athletes
Willingness to be a team player in the athletic department and a role model for athletes
Current valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check.
