Head Athletic Trainer
POSITION: Head Athletic Trainer (12 months)

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is a NCAA Division II program and a member of the Northeast 10 Conference. Consisting of 19 athletics teams, SCSU's outstanding program continually ranks among the top NCAA Division II programs in the nation, and also boasts a long record of dominance in the Northeast for both team and individual championships. The Owls rank among the top 10 nationally with 80 individual titles and in team championships with 10 titles. SCSU had NCAA championships representation in eight sports in 2016-17 and also ranked among the top-30 percent of all Division II programs in the Clearfield Sports Cup for the 11th straight year.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include the coordination of health care to athletes under the supervision of the Team Physician for 19 highly competitive NCAA Div. II athletics program. Further duties include event coverage scheduling, insurance claims management, recordkeeping, budgeting, supply/equipment requisition, facilities management, and staff supervision. The Head Athletic Trainer will also serve as Site Coordinator for the NCAA Drug Testing Program, and serve as an Approved Clinical Instructor for Athletic Training Students.
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned master's degree required, NATABOC certified and five (5) years of appropriate professional level experience. Must hold a current Athletic Training license in the State of Connecticut (or eligible to receive). Commitment in following the letter and spirit of NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication and written skills in order to work closely with a diverse population of student-athletes, coaches, strength and conditioning personnel as well as Campus Health Services.
