Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts is currently searching for the full-time, 10-month position of Head Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Coach to lead and manage two competitive Division III programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision of assistant coaches, the recruitment and retention of volleyball student-athletes, practice and game day coaching, fundraising and monitoring the academic standing and progress of our student-athletes and team management. Responsibilities include general athletic department administration as well as other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Additional administrative duties will be reviewed annually. Specific Duties: - Lead and manage two competitive Division III volleyball programs within the guidelines of the NCAA, New England Collegiate Conference and Newbury College - Responsible for recruitment and retention of student athletes, practice and game-day preparation and coaching as well as monitoring the academic standing and progress of student athletes - Organize prospective student-athlete official and unofficial visits - Manage team fundraising efforts, expenses and revenue Administration - Assist with home events management by serving as the site administrator throughout the year at various contests. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Education or related field, Master's Degree preferred; demonstrated experience in the recruitment of student-athletes; demonstrated experience in budgetary management; possess thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations; demonstrate ability to monitor and supervise subordinate professionals and students; demonstrate ability to develop two highly competitive volleyball programs; excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes; sensitivity to equity and diversity within the campus community; and ability to act as a mentor and exercise leadership, especially for the volleyball student-athletes and assistant coaches. |
