Ashland University is an NCAA Division II institution that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), one of the most highly respected NCAA Division II conferences in the country. Ashland University offers a comprehensive 23-sport athletic program. The University is located off of Interstate 71 in Ashland, Ohio, midway between Cleveland and Columbus. Position Summary: Ashland University is seeking applications for the position of Graduate Assistant - Equipment Coordinator. The graduate assistant will work with the Head Equipment Coordinator on a daily basis. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and the Head Equipment Coordinator. Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities: •Requires meeting the equipment needs for Ashland University's varsity sports teams. Includes preparing equipment for practice and games, preparing the field/court for practice and/or games, and setup and teardown of athletic facilities. •Will be involved with the ordering, preparation, care and repair of equipment and uniforms. In concert with the Head Equipment Coordinator, the graduate assistant will inventory equipment and uniforms for each sport and maintain the equipment rooms. •Works closely with student-athletes and coaches to meet their equipment needs. •Assists the Head Equipment Coordinator in fitting student-athletes with uniforms and equipment. •Requires attendance at numerous home sporting events. The position will be part of the game-day management team. In some instances, the graduate assistant will be required to attend practices. •Requires being current with trends and general practices in sport management and equipment coordination. The position will attend workshops, clinics, and forums in an effort to stay current in the field. •Manages the equipment office when the Head Equipment Coordinator is off campus.
