The Student-Athlete Support Specialist Graduate Assistant for Athletics at Mercer University is primarily responsible for assisting the Academic Services staff in carrying out internal operations for the Academic Resource Center. The Graduate Assistant will also assist the Academic Services staff in various tasks related to the academic performance and enrichment of student-athletes, as well as administrative duties, as assigned. This individual shall report directly to the Director of Student-Athlete Support.
Review and monitor academic progress for assigned student-athletes.
Provide frequent and consistent communication with academic coaches, Director, coaches and administration about the progress of assigned students.
Provide professional support and programs for student-athletes in accordance with regulations of Mercer, Southern Conference, the NCAA, and federal Government.
Assist full time staff with projects as needed.
Assist with the supervision of daytime and evening study table and tutorial sessions.
Assist with daily operations of Academic Resource Center.
Become knowledgeable of academic policies and procedures at Mercer University.
Assist with other academic support and student development programming.
Create academic reports to be shared with coaches, Director of student-athlete support and administration.
Attend all meetings as requested and share information with Academic services staff.
This is graduate assistant position that requires the ability to work some nights and weekends.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications BA or BS degree in a related field and admittance to a graduate program at Mercer University
Experience working in a Division 1 athletic department setting
Experience as a student-athlete, tutor or mentor
Statistical/mathematical background a plus
Anticipated start date is July 2018.
