Wabash College seeks candidates for the position of Director of Athletics. The Director reports to the President of the College and is a member of the Senior Staff. The Director provides leadership to the Intercollegiate Athletics Department and directs and coordinates the development and administration of all athletic programs in compliance with NCAA regulations. Specifically, the Director will:
•Create an environment designed to facilitate the growth and development of the individual students, as well as athletic teams and coaches.
•Have a proven record of experience in athletic recruiting in direct collaboration with the enrollment office.
•Be responsible for preparing and implementing department budgets, and works collaboratively with the Advancement Office on various fund raising and alumni engagement activities.
•Work collaboratively with the Dean of Students Office to fully develop the character and leadership abilities of student-athletes.
•Be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with campus partners, alumni, and the larger Wabash College community.
•Oversee the daily operation of the Allen Athletics and Recreation Center and all of the College’s athletic facilities.
•Represent the College and the interests of its officers, student-athletes, coaches, and staff in service to the NCAA and the North Coast Athletic Conference.
•Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree preferred.
•Demonstrated leadership in college athletic setting and 5-7 years of professional experience planning, organizing, and directing athletics is required.
•Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
•Experience in budget preparation, administration, and control.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
