Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the fulltime position, of Head Women’s Soccer Coach. This is a new program that will begin competition in the fall of 2019. The head coach manages and oversees the operations of the women’s soccer program. IU Kokomo’s athletic program is a member of the River States Conference (RSC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). IU Kokomo offers men’s and women’s cross country, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s track, baseball, Women’s tennis and women’s soccer.
Reporting to the Athletic Director, essential duties include, but are not limited to: Recruit, train and coach quality student athletes, plan and execute the schedule of all contests and practices in compliance with RSC and NAIA regulations; perform administrative tasks including the operation of the women’s soccer program within budgetary guidelines; monitor academic progress of student athletes; develop opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in the NAIA Champions of Character program; develop and participate in fund-raising activities for the program in conjunction with the Athletic Department; supervise assistant coach(es), graduate assistants, interns and/or student workers; work with the Sports Information Director to maintain the women’s soccer programs’ marketing and web page.
Qualifications: earned Bachelor’s degree and three years of demonstrated ability to teach the techniques, rules and strategy of soccer. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required, as are written and verbal communication skills; valid driver’s license is required and willingness to work evenings/weekends; working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office applications and web applications is also required.
