Notre Dame of Maryland University seeks a Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success, Compliance & Social Media, which is funded through the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant. The Intern will work with the Athletics Academic Coordinator in regards to providing proactive outreach and academic support to student-athletes. Notre Dame of Maryland University provides its students with a rigorous academic curriculum. The position would be responsible for the following duties:
Assisting with tracking and monitoring the academic progress of our student-athletes
Serve as a liaison between the Trailblazers Program and the Athletic Department. The Trailblazer scholars provides first generation students with the tools, incentives, and support they need to graduate and be successful in challenging academic environments.
Serve as a liaison between Student Affairs and Athletics to work jointly to provide life skills programming for student-athletes.
Serve as a liaison between our coaching staff and the Athletic Academic staff to foster open lines of communication
Assist the with implementation and improvement of the department's student-athletes compliance tracking and monitoring program
Attend and assist in conducting student-athlete initial compliance meetings
Assist in developing a monthly compliance newsletter that will be sent out to all Athletics staff
Assist with the production and development of sports promotional videos for all departmental social media outlets
Assist with management of departmental social media accounts
Assist with promotional efforts to promote contest and student-athlete achievement
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and experience as an NCAA Student Athlete. Candidates have the opportunity to attend one of the graduate programs at Notre Dame for which they must be accepted. This role requires basic knowledge of NCAA compliance and governance. This position requires the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. and the ability to work nights and weekends.
