Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics, the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance will support and enhance the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. The incumbent will be the primary educator, overseer, enforcer, and interpreter of conference and NCAA regulations. The position will be responsible for developing, directing, supervising, evaluating, and overseeing all aspects of Athletics compliance, including strategic planning, policy implementation, comprehensive rules education and monitoring systems, interpretations, waivers, investigations, and self-reporting of violations.
At least four years of professional NCAA compliance experience
At least four years of professional intercollegiate athletics experience
Previous supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Master's degree or Juris Doctorate
Five years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, with some experience at an NCAA Division I-FBS Institution
Five years of NCAA compliance experience (at an NCAA member institution, conference office, or the national office)
Experience overseeing NCAA rules interpretations and education.
At least two years of analytical experience as it relates to rules interpretation.
Experience with NCAA RISRO and LSDBi system.
Experience with recruiting and compliance software (e.g. ACS)
Comprehensive mastery of NCAA rules and regulations.
Additional Salary Information: Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $8,283 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
