Department Summary The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. It is the steadfast goal of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide the most outstanding student-athlete experience by helping them to achieve excellence, both in the classroom and in their chosen sport. The department has approximately 250 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.
The Duck Athletic Fund is a comprehensive fundraising unit supporting the entire department with an overall mission to sustain and enhance excellence at the University of Oregon. The Director works as part of the Duck Athletic Fund to promote university fundraising priorities and brand to alumni, parents, and friends of the university.
Position Summary The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for building a broad base of sustainable, annual support for the University of Oregon Athletic Department from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students. The Director also collaborates with the university community by providing expertise in direct marketing and strategic planning to its campus partners, as well as coordinating outreach to alumni and other constituents to ensure that communication with these groups is effective and fundraising is maximized. The Director is expected to bring innovative and creative ideas to the University of Oregon and Duck Athletic Fund to support the growth of annual giving.
Working closely with the Assistant Athletic Director for Development in Athletics, the Director of Annual Giving works to further the goals and objectives of the Duck Athletic Fund team and assists with the overall strategic development, management and execution of annual fundraising programs, campaigns and projects. This individual will oversee one FTE staff member, as well as, annual fundraising efforts, including: direct mail, email, telefund, crowdfunding, Day of Giving, student-athlete thank-a-thon, all emerging annual giving campaigns, and annual giving stewardship. The Director of Annual Giving will also manage program budget(s) and represent the Duck Athletic Fund to a broad audience of alumni, donors, Alumni Association members, university partners and campus administration.
This position is also responsible for the direct solicitation of donors.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, Pac-12 Conference and the NCAA.

Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, preferably in marketing, public relations, communications, advertising or related field. • Two years of annual giving experience or fundraising experience.

Preferred Qualifications • Experience in segmentation and multi-channel solicitation development.
