The duties of the Graduate Assistant Golf Coach will be to assist the head golf coach in all areas of the operations of the golf program.
The term of this job description is from the beginning of August 2018 until the end of May 2020. School is paid in full throughout the duration this position is held and the graduate assistant will receive a stipend each semester.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Maintenance of consistent office hours as agreed upon by the Head Golf Coach and selected individual. - Must keep an accurate account of all recruiting information as well as recruiting prospective student-athletes through emails, mailings, phone calls, campus visits, home visits, scouting, evaluation and web-based recruiting programs (i.e. Front Rush). - In charge of updating practice logs and lifting schedule in Front Rush, weekly or as needed, as instructed by the head coach. - Assist in the tracking and maintenance of all equipment (i.e. rain gear, shag bag balls, uniform distribution, golf balls for each tournament) - Assist the head coach with organizing team travel; lodging, meals, and vans, etc. - Assist Head Golf Coach in community service and fundraising activities, which include planning, coordination of and supervision during the activities. - Assist Head Golf Coach with the supervision and attendance tracking of Study Tables.
Candidates should have competitive playing, coaching or teaching experience at the college level or equivalent.
Candidates must be able to work effectively in a diverse work environment, be attentive to details, have the ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment, maintain confidentiality, show initiative, handle frequent interruptions and manage projects while keeping an organized workflow.
Efficiently communicate and run effective drills during practice from guidelines of head coach or, if instructed, on own.
Must be able and willing to publicly support all decisions of the Head Golf Coach and be supportive of the Vision of the CSP Golf Program.
Must be able and willing to maintain an appropriate, consistent, and fair level of discipline as defined by the Head Golf Coach.
