The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Division I) is seeking a Fan Experience/Special Events Graduate Assistant. The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the program, including (but not limited to) all athletic department special events, while playing a vital role in SpectacUALR (largest fundraising event at Little Rock) and taking the lead in soliciting auction items for the event, along with assisting the department with Little Rock Trojans Day, Golf Shamble, Lettermen’s Weekend, Student-Athlete Senior Honors Luncheon, etc. The Fan Experience/Special Events Assistant will play the lead role in executing all men’s/women’s basketball on-court promotions, enhancing UA-Little Rock’s student-engagement, student rewards program, Maroon Mob, game-day event set-up for all sports, baseball marketing plan and other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations.
The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in game-day management, marketing, sales and promotions. Along with human relations, public presentations, communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm with the ability to work nights and weekend, as well as some holidays. Must comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in sports management, marketing, or a related field is required
Acceptance into UA Little Rock graduate school
Evidence of sound organizational skills
Ability to interact effectively with students, student-athletes, colleagues, and the public
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics marketing, promotions, special events, and/or student activities
Interested in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics
Additional Salary Information: $8,000 stipend +full tuition for fall/spring (summer stipend available)
12-month appointment beginning June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2019.
