Job Title: Multimedia Production Coordinator Department: Athletics Position Reports To: Assistant Athletic Director for Communications
POSITION SUMMARY: •Oversees all video and multimedia efforts for the High Point University Athletic Department and ensures positive representation of the University in the media.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education •A bachelor’s degree is required, preferred in the field of communications, new media, or related.
Experience and Training •At least one year of experience in multimedia, video production, broadcasting or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability: •Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro required, preferred proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder and the rest of the Adobe Production Suite. •Working knowledge of NewTek Tricaster, 3Play, LiveText and Vizrt. •Must demonstrate the ability to produce live video broadcasts using all necessary technology and equipment. Must be able to organize and schedule staff for all home events. •Must be able to create professional post-production video content. •Must be able to teach students the skills necessary to contribute to video streaming and post-production and give constructive feedback to all video staff. •Graphic design experience is a plus. •Experience in lighting a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Oversees all video and multimedia efforts for the High Point University Athletic Department, working with all resources and staff within HPU Athletics. •Creates highlight and promotional video content that will appear online, on video boards, and be disseminated to media as well as various other platforms. •Shoots and edits feature content for HPU Athletics social media channels and highpointpanthers.com using Sony FS7 and Canon 7D cameras. •Produces high-quality video features to highlight the University’s student-athletes. •Coordinates production of all live video events (over 100 events per year) on the Big South Network and supervises all game-day production staff; determines schedules for staffing and equipment for all live broadcasts. •Serves as an advisor to the HPU Sports Link (student broadcasting group). Teaches students the skills necessary to work in every position on broadcasts (broadcaster, camera operator, graphics, sound board, director); handles scheduling of students for live broadcasts. •Manages part-time video production assistant for multimedia operations •Trains all video production staff and gives constructive feedback. •Keeps up to date with all emerging technology. Makes recommendations about future equipment needs. •Contact for ESPN3 or similar broadcasts •Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students’ parents, faculty, co-workers and managers. •Performs other duties as required.
ACCOUNTABILITY: •Direct and determine the content of all videos and any other multimedia initiatives that will be viewed by the public. Determine when and where content will be viewed (i.e. highpointpanthers.com, Big South Network, YouTube, direct upload to Facebook/Twitter, local television, released to media). •Generate ideas and execute all production for athletics videos and multimedia. •Produce feature content to be disseminated across multiple platforms. •Produce live broadcasts that are viewable online or on television. •Ensure positive representation of the University in the media.
