This position will assist in all aspects of administering the NCAA Compliance program for a Division I Athletics Department with 24 varsity programs, with an emphasis on Financial Aid. •Maintain a comprehensive compliance program for all athletic financial aid activities for each sport program, including monitoring, documentation, and education. •Maintain and monitor the certification of all student-athlete institutional, outside awards, team awards and award limitations as well as coordinate athletic aid renewals and non-renewals. •Serve as a resource to student-athletes in the areas of financial aid and scholarships; direct student-athletes to other student services on campus as appropriate. Work specifically with campus constituents for the purpose of overseeing international student-athlete financial aid. •Oversee National Letter of Intent program, financial aid summer school application and approval process and all procedures related to student-athlete book scholarships. •Monitor housing arrangements and meals pertaining to financial aid bylaws including pre-season and early arrival housing as well as vacation period lodging and meal per diem. •Assist the Asst. AD for Compliance as one of the liaisons to University Officials related to rules compliance for Financial Aid, Bursar, Controller, Conference Services, Residence Life, Bookstore, Procurement, and Dining Services. •Assist the Registrar in coordinating all roster additions and deletions. Coordinate the practice eligibility process for all individuals involved in a team tryout. Liaison with medical/training staff regarding rosters and practice eligibility. •Assist the Assistant AD with submission of various reports including annual institutional participation reports, for all University, NCAA, and Federal guidelines. •Assist to monitor athletics observance of NCAA legislation areas such as personnel, amateurism, recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, awards and benefits and playing seasons. •Serve as the Compliance Facilitator for NCAA sponsored sports. Research and interpret rules and provide rules education for coaches, student-athletes and staff. •Research and interpret rules for coaches, student-athletes, administrators, university staff, and other representatives of athletics interest for bylaws 15 (financial aid) and 16 (awards and benefits). •Assist with the University’s continued commitment to a quality NCAA Division I compliance program that is educational, cooperative, and professional in nature
Bachelor’s Degree required.
3-4 yrs. of NCAA compliance, coaching and or administration experience in college athletics, preferably at a Division 1 institution. Working knowledge and understanding of Financial Aid regulations (University / NCAA).
Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, strong computer skills, ability to pay attention to details and handle sensitive and confidential records. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize own work and multi-task, take initiative and ownership of projects. Demonstrate experience working independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with personal computer applications and comfortable with various computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office, BANNER, JumpForward, TeamWorks, CAi, LSDBi).
