The Equipment Manager oversees the purchase, organization, distribution, and repair of athletic equipment. The Equipment Manager will manage and maintain all equipment essential for the operation of Murray State University athletic teams.
Responsibilities & Duties •Managing all aspects for the Murray State football program including planning, ordering, receiving and proper use of athletics equipment with the parameters of the Department and University purchasing and inventory control guidelines. •Purchase equipment by following the Murray State purchasing procedures while working in consultation with the head coach. •Organize, distribute, collect, repair, store, fit and maintain all necessary equipment. •Launder uniforms and equipment. •Prepare supplies for home and away contests. •Exercise independent judgment in overseeing the operation of the equipment room. •Coordinating the transportation of equipment for all away football games. •Perform equipment maintenance to ensure safety and effective performance. •Responsibility for ensuring annual safety recertification. •Responsible for maintenance and set-up of practice equipment. •Responsible for repairing equipment and coordinating outside sources for repairs. •Supervise student managers. •Instruct student managers in laundry details, game procedures, equipment repair and other tasks deemed necessary. •Management of cleaning and collection of athletic apparel and equipment for the teams assigned to this position. •Ensure that inventory has logos added as required by conference office. •Organize, educate, and coordinate with officials for football ball boys as required by Ohio Valley Conference rules. •Other duties as assigned. •As a member of the Murray State University Athletic Department, you shall comply with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations as provided in the NCAA Division I Manual. If you are found in violation of NCAA regulations, you shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant repetitive violations.

Minimum Education Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
•Working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and athletic equipment required. •Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills. •Ability to work well with students, faculty, community and media. •Must have a valid driver’s license.
