The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for Director of Operations for its women’s basketball program. This is a full-time position with full University benefits. The University of Iowa is a NCAA Division I Power Five institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 24 varsity sports programs and operates under a “Win. Graduate. Do It Right.” philosophy. Responsibilities: Oversee women’s basketball office operations, budget and financial management; coordinate all aspects of team travel; schedule practice facilities home/away; assist recruiting coordinator with arranging recruit visits; coordinate camps, annual golf outing and coaches’ clinics; coordinate team meals; liaison with sports marketing, HawkVision, event management and ticket operations; assist with budget development and equipment/apparel orders; other duties as assigned by head coach. Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Related administrative office experience (typically 1-3 years) in a collegiate athletics environment
Working knowledge of and ability to:
Utilize basic office support software, such as Microsoft Office Suite (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets);
Communicate effectively (written and oral) as demonstrated by working constructively and collaboratively with individuals such as vendors, travel agencies, event managers, customers/donors/fans and/or through clinician experience
Operate within a highly regulated environment.
NCAA Division I basketball playing experience highly preferred.
Proven leadership ability, as demonstrated by participation in or election to leadership roles in academic or work environment highly preferred.
Working knowledge and ability to:
Plan and administer a budget
Organize and execute events, such as camps and/or clinics
Terms of Employment: This is a 100% time position with full University of Iowa benefits. Salary range is $50,000 - $55,000.
