Position: Assistant Women’s Volleyball CoachReporting Relationship: Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Responsibility Summary: This individual is responsible for helping in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes and program development in order to produce successfully functioning athletes. This individual must be committed to the academic achievement of students.Position is non-exemptSpecific Responsibilities: This individual will assist the head coach with: recruiting, scouting, coordination of travel for away contests, monitoring the academic progress of the student athletes, preparing pre-season programs, practice sessions, game plans and fundraising.In addition, this individual will provide leadership in responding to student needs and college issues related to Menlo’s athletic program.Effectively coordinate the recruiting of student-athletes within Admission standards established by the College and the NAIA.Accountability: To effectively assist the head coach with recruiting, training, monitoring, disciplining, and planning all aspects of an NAIA program.During my term as an assistant coach, I will abide by all NAIA, GSAC Conference and Menlo College Athletic Department rules and regulations. Failure to follow NAIA rules will result in my immediate dismissal from assistant coach duties.
Job Requirements: • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as written and oral communication skills. • A thorough knowledge of current NAIA rules and regulations. • A dedication to the success of student-athletes in their academic and athletic endeavors and a commitment to integrity, gender equity and racial diversity. • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or equivalent as judged by the head volleyball coach. • Two years experience working as a volleyball coach or the equivalent as judged by the head volleyball coach.
