The University of Jamestown (NAIA), located in Jamestown, ND, is seeking applicants for Women’s Track and Field Head Coach. The selected candidate will ensure the team operates and conducts themselves within the ideals, goals, rules and regulations set forth by University of Jamestown and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Women’s Track and Field Coach will embrace and promote the five core character values of the NAIA Champions of Character; respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship as well as the tenants of the University of Jamestown Journey to Success; Look Inward, Look Outward, Look Beyond and Look Forward. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics. The Women’s Track and Field Coach provides leadership, organization, supervision, instruction and strategic planning for the Jimmie Women’s Track and Field Teams. The responsibilities of the Women’s Track and Field Coach include, but are not limited to:Fostering an atmosphere promoting academic success and personal developmentMeeting recruiting and retention goalsEstablishing an effective communication plan with student-athletesPlanning a competitive scheduleConducting practices in a safe environmentOrganizing home eventsEffectively managing the budgetFundraising for additional program needsProviding safe and efficient travel to competitionsImplementing an effective community service planPromoting the women’s track and field program in the college and communityWorking with associate women’s track and field/cross country coachOrdering equipment to serve the needs of the programMaintaining an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipmentThe Women’s Track and Field Coach will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. This is a 10-month, full-time staff position.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) and previous collegiate track and field coaching experience.
