POSITION SUMMARYPalm Beach Atlantic University’s (PBA) Athletic Department is seeking applications for the position of Head Softball Coach. Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, PBA is a non-denominational Christian University, an NCAA Division II institution and provisional member of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) with anticipated full membership starting in the Fall of 2017. This is a full-time 10-month position. As the face of the program, the Head Coach will promote the program on campus and within the community, focus on player development and on coaching, recruit highly qualified student-athletes to the institution, and monitor the academic performances of the student athletes in order to cultivate an environment of academic and athletic excellence. In addition, the Head Coach will be responsible for all logistical program details, such as team travel, and supervision of staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAdministrative & Coaching:•Organization and supervision for all aspects of the softball program including the recruitment of qualified student-athletes, player development, planning and coordinating daily practices, establishing team rosters, representing the university and team interests at national and conference meetings and team supervision during travel •Recruit and train student-athletes with a commitment to academic success•Ability to relate to student-athletes while keeping in compliance with all NCAA and Sunshine State Conference and university rules and regulations•Oversee scheduling, practice sessions, scouting, budget management, fundraising, promotions, and other duties for the program•Attend all scheduled meetings including compliance rules education and staff meetings•Work with athletic training to ensure student athlete well-being•Plan and organize community engagement events for student athletes•Focus on student athlete spiritual development and monitor chapel attendance•Focus on student athlete well-being and academic success•Other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics

Required Qualifications: • Statement of Faith
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in collegiate or professional coaching; advanced knowledge of the game; Collegiate playing experience. NCAA Division II experience a plus.
Minimum requirement Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. Master’s degree preferred.
