The position of Director of Multimedia will be a vital member of the Marketing & Communications team leading the Integrated Communications team while working in sync with Strategic Communications and Marketing & Brand Management. The position will be responsible for creating, managing and maintaining impactful content that strategically grows the Vanderbilt Athletics brand in all external communications.
Provide oversight and lead execution of all multimedia content across vucommodores.com and social media platforms and guide his/her team to ideate, create, design and execute content and strategy. Developing multimedia content that enhances revenue streams through fan engagement and experience, brand awareness, advertising and public relations strategies – including collaborating with the ticketing and marketing departments to help push sales initiatives.
Manage creative development and deployment of digital, social, mobile and video content for communications and branding initiatives surrounding Vanderbilt athletic events. Provides direction and oversees execution of comprehensive, integrated strategy related to multimedia external content.
Supervise the Multimedia Coordinator - including training, mentoring, evaluating performance and handling performance problems.
Assist the Department of Athletics with its digital communications initiatives in order to extend custom content across multiple platforms, including, but not limited to web, mobile, social, video, etc.
Responsible for tracking and applying social media analytics to ensure quality and sound plan strategies.
Serve as liaison to Director of Video Services to ensure total integration of video content across all channels.
Work with Vanderbilt University’s digital communications team on special projects.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD/Communications.
Job requires Bachelor's and 4 years of experience or the equivalent.
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
Minimum two years’ experience working in media, marketing and/or public relations
Experience in creating multimedia content that has been integrated across multiple platforms
Experience in developing visual content – video and/or graphics
Extensive knowledge of new media, social media and experience working with web-based content
Experience managing and editing a website
Extensive knowledge of video production and/or graphic design
Experience in digital media strategy and new media analytics
