The department has approximately 250 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.Position SummaryThe Sports Dietitian position will oversee the day to day nutritional care, health and performance of student-athletes within the University of Oregon Athletic Department. Primary responsibilities include planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the sports nutrition services provided to student-athletes. Position will report to the Director of Sports Nutrition.Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, Pac-12 Conference and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements • Registered Dietitian certification • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or related • One year of experience working in a collegiate sports nutrition setting or equivalent.
Professional Competencies • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with multiple styles that demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals of diverse social, cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds • Strong computer skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing are required. • Candidate with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired. • Adept with time and priority management. • Ability to work as a supportive team member toward agreed upon goals; and demonstrated ability to adhere to and comply with NCAA, Pac-12 and University rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications • Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Exercise Physiology or related field • Credential of board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) • Three years of experience working in a collegiate sports nutrition or equivalent. • ISAK L1 and DXA Certification.
