The Head Women's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for the organizing and directing of all operations of the UW-River Falls Women’s Lacrosse Program which will begin competition in 2018-19. The Falcon Center Operations Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support in the areas of accounts payable/receivable, cash operations, student payroll, supply ordering and record keeping.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•Recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes•Preparing athletes and teams for competition•Practice organization•Mentoring student-athletes/player evaluations•Organizing, directing, and supervising a staff of assistant coaches•Operating within allotted program budget/purchasing/fundraising•Coordinating practice and event schedules •Game management/coordinating team travel to away events•Promoting the athletic program, and attending Athletic Department staff meetings•Directing the program within the guidelines of NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations•Performing payroll and HR functions for Falcon Center Operations•Managing cash handling and accounting functions for Falcon Center Operations•Serving as office manager for Falcon Center Operations
•Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required •Coaching and/or competitive playing experience at the high school or collegiate level •Experience recruiting and retaining a diverse group of successful student-athletes •Strong commitment to the academic achievements of student-athletes •Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete character development •Ability to communicate and organize with student-athletes within the rules and regulations of UWRF, WIAC and NCAADIII •Intermediate/advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Power Point), page design software, EMS, Fusion and web based CMS •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills •Ability to exercise a significant degree of independence for decision-making •Manage and keep sensitive information confidential •Accuracy, attention to detail, follow-through, and reliability •Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks •Skills necessary to oversee student employees, previous experience preferred •Knowledge of, or ability to learn, UW policies and procedures related to procurement, payroll (faculty and student), travel reimbursements, etc. •Knowledge of, or ability to learn, UW-River Falls accounts receivable/payable functions •Knowledge of cash handling procedures •Ability to track/monitor UWRF budget account
