Saint Anselm College Assistant Athletic Trainer Position Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers (AT), health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients across age and care continuums. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. ATs work under the direction of physicians, as prescribed by state licensure statutes.
A Saint Anselm College Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the day-to-day Sports Medicine duties including prevention, evaluation, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all student-athletes participating in the college’s 20 varsity sports. • Conduct ongoing injury prevention program through conditioning, safety checks of equipment, and formal and informal instruction of athletes in injury prevention techniques. • Attend team practices and games, with early morning, night and weekend hours, college holidays, college closures and overnight travel required • Facilitate pre-participation screening including ImPact concussion testing for all sports • Facilitate NCAA and institutional drug testing • Able to advise coaches and athletes on strength and conditioning programs • Assist with inventory and management supplies and equipment • Maintain daily medical records and facilitate insurance claims • Daily interaction with coaching staff, fellow athletic trainers, and administration • Assist in the supervision and evaluation of intern student athletic trainers, as well as work study students • Assist in the implementation of emergency care protocols, policy and procedure manuals • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned
