Reporting to the Deputy Athletics Director, this position focuses on acquiring corporate sponsors and planning, executing and monitoring sponsorship activities for Johns Hopkins University Athletics & Recreation. This position will be responsible for creating a high volume of new business and implementing corporate marketing partnerships for the university athletic and recreation program while also building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and the athletic department staff. This position is responsible for reaching and exceeding annual targets to achieve the strategic goal of broadening and strengthening the base of corporate support and engagement with JHU Athletics & Recreation.
Responsible for revenue generation and coordinating strategies for direct personal solicitation and stewardship of corporate sponsorship for Johns Hopkins Athletics & Recreation.
• The Director of Corporate Sponsorships conducts the corporate sponsorship and promotions program for Johns Hopkins Athletics & Recreation. • Responsible for the design, planning, implementation and administration of relationships and sponsor agreements between the department and corporate and local partners. • Evaluate existing sponsor relationships and redefine sponsor relationships moving forward; create a sponsorship “deck” that appropriately earmarks sponsorship elements for sponsorships of varying investment; complete benchmarking exercise to inform sponsorship pricing for various elements • Conduct 60+ personal visits per year to solicit corporate and local sponsorships within a range that is generally $5,000-$50,000. • Work closely with Athletics Communications, Marketing, Ticketing, and Game Operations to develop ticketing and/or in-game promotions, and will ensure activation and fulfillment of all sponsorship agreements. • Create and design sponsorship agreement contracts authorized by the Johns Hopkins University Legal Counsel. • Serve as the liaison between corporate clients and Hopkins facility staff to appropriately brand athletic facilities with signage. • Meet regularly with the key departmental personnel to identify corporate sponsorship opportunities.
