Position Summary: It is the responsibility of the golf graduate assistant to support the head coach in leading a successful NCAA Division II program. Excellence in both the men's golf and women's golf programs will be attained through athletic success, academic achievement, service learning and leadership development.
The graduate assistant shall perform all duties pertaining to her/his sport program as assigned by the head coach. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Work cooperatively with the head coach to assist in the planning and implementation of practices • Travel with the team(s) to select tournaments; fulfill all duties of the head coach when he is unable to travel due to travel with the other golf program • Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes • Work with the head coach and head strength and conditioning coach to schedule team workouts • Work with the head coach to coordinate and fulfill community service requirements • Serve an integral part in the planning and implementation of the annual golf tournament fundraiser • Be present for established daily office hours and department staff meetings with respect to graduate studies and academic responsibilities. • Other duties as assigned
• Ability to gain admittance to a Regis University graduate program • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred • Ability to pass the NCAA Certification Exam • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to travel and work nights and weekends • Valid driver’s license (must be approved to drive University vehicles) • Must pass a background check • A commitment of at least two calendar years to the graduate position with continual progress to the completion of a degree
Additional Salary Information: The hired applicant will receive $15,000 in scholarship dollars each year to cover their graduate school classes as well as some living expenses.
