Head Softball Coach
Swarthmore College, a member of the NCAA Division III, ECAC and the Centennial Conference, is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Head Coach for Softball. The successful candidate will understand the mission of Swarthmore College and the role that intercollegiate athletics plays to support it. The Head Coach will coordinate all aspects of the program including organization, administration, budget management, alumni relations, fundraising, and adherence to Conference policies. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain positive communication with alumni, parents, and friends of the program. Teaching of physical education and an additional responsibility within the department will be expected, as well as other duties as assigned by the director.
Qualified candidates must possess bachelor's degree, although strong preference will be given to those who have a master's degree and head coaching experience and / or college level experience. Candidates will have strong recruiting, teaching, and coaching skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with student-athletes, faculty, administration, and community. Candidates will possess a record of successful leadership in competitive softball, preferably as a head coach, and will understand the role of intercollegiate athletics within the educational framework of a highly competitive academic environment.
