George Mason University Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball
George Mason University Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball to assist the Head Coach in organizing, developing and directing a Division I women's basketball program in accordance with the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Atlantic 10 Conference and George Mason University. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Head Coach, Women's Basketball. Responsibilities: Under administrative direction, the incumbent provides assistant coaching support in all aspects of the game including:
Administration of practices and conditioning program;
Formulation of schedules;
Assess talent and recruit quality of prospective student-athletes;
While on campus, promote Intercollegiate Athletics as an integral part of the university; and
Assist the Head Coach in monitoring student-athletes' performance in meeting academic eligibility criteria and furthering the success of the team, both athletically and academically.
Advanced degree, or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree.
Skill in coaching a basketball program at the college and/or university or professional level;
Knowledge of fundamental mechanics and techniques of basketball sports competition; and
Demonstrated commitment to compliance and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
