Applicants should have at minimum a bachelor’s degree in a related field (sports management, sports administration, public relations, marketing, communications, etc.) with strong interpersonal and written communication skills as well as a career goal in athletics administration. Applicants should have work experience in athletics. Familiarity and/or experience in website management and desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
The internship position will provide a minimum annual salary of $25,000 funded primarily by the NCAA, but will also include some benefit offerings and a yearly $3,000 stipend for professional development. The position will be based at the conference office in St. Paul, Minnesota. The position will report directly to the Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner. The hired individual must attend the NCAA grant program orientation July 27-28, 2017, in Indianapolis at the NCAA National Office. The in-office starting date for the position is August 1, 2017.
