The commissioner position includes but is not limited to furthering the league’s division with creative and innovative leadership; addressing problems within the league and implementing strategic solutions; coordinating and scheduling events; communicating with the Council of Presidents on the league’s state; helping sculpt how the league presents itself in the media; and being in constant communication with the league’s leadership on all matters of importance.
The Commissioner reports directly to the Council of Presidents (COP) and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Crossroads League. The Commissioner will effectively provide the leadership and administrative functions of the Crossroads League for all aspects of the men’s and women’s athletic programs and promote the Crossroads League as an integral part of the NAIA as directed by the COP.
Minimum requirement: bachelor’s degree in an athletic, business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Ideal candidate will have technical and web skills and experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe
Photoshop, Power Point, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Five to ten years experience in an athletic setting preferably at a university level with demonstrated ability to fundraise.
The Crossroads League is a ten-institution athletic conference in the NAIA. The Crossroads League offers 15 year round sports throughout Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
