| The CU Boulder Athletics Department is now accepting applications for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This professional, exempt position is responsible for assisting the Associate Athletics Director - Health and Performance in the daily operations of the strength program at the University of Colorado. Working in a team oriented environment, the position will develop training programs for student athletes to increase strength and conditioning, and to prevent/rehabilitate sports related injuries in a safe learning environment. The position will communicate regularly with other strength staff, sports coaches, athletic trainers, and other athletic department personnel. |
What your key responsibilities will be:
Direct the speed, strength and conditioning programs for Women’s Basketball and Women's Volleyball including:
•Design, implement, and monitor year-round strength, agility, speed, and conditioning training programs for the sports assigned by the Associate Athletics Director - Health and Performance. •Create programming that will enable student athletes to reach their physical potential in their sport. Develop and administer these programs by using your relevant knowledge of the various sports and associated exercises, evaluating current physical conditioning, tailoring strength programs for specific needs, demonstrating proper performance of exercises, and correcting mistakes. •Evaluate progress and provide an assessment of development by analyzing up to date records of student athlete performance. •Reduce the likelihood of sports-related injuries or the aggravation of existing injuries during practice sessions and scheduled contests by using pertinent knowledge of the injuries sustained in the sport and appropriate prevention methods, directing appropriate pre-training sessions, pre-contest preparations, and warm ups, and working with qualified sports medicine personnel or athletic trainers during all training sessions and contests. •Assist with the coordination, maintenance, and staffing of weight room/strength facilities by helping to identify and purchase strength and conditioning equipment and supporting the scheduling of weight room training for the various athletic programs.
•Assist with development, implementation, and review of sport specific profiles and sports performance data analysis (data analytics). Data collected will be reviewed throughout the year and reported biannually.
Recruiting and Team-Building:
•Assist in on-campus recruiting and team-building activities as assigned by the Women's Volleyball and Basketball coaches.
