The Head Coach is responsible for developing a program of sustained excellence which emphasizes not only competitive success, but also academic achievement and servant leadership, consistent with the mission of the University. The culture which is associated with the program should be one of trust and integrity that promotes the dignity of work and encourages growth, learning and institutional compliance.
The Head Coach must demonstrate knowledge of the sport, expertise in skills related to the sport, confidence in developing and implementing competition strategies and experience in recruiting student-athletes whose attitudes and behaviors fit with the mission of the university. The Head Coach hires and supervises assistant coaches capable of supporting the mission of the position.
The Head Coach must develop and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents and other professionals in formal and informal settings in order to be a successful coach teacher and recruiter.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:
A commitment to the educational mission of Concordia University.
Sports specific knowledge of required skills, rules, statistics, and strategies.
Strong interpersonal relationship skills including the ability to speak publicly to large and small audiences and individually mentor and motivate student-athletes for excellence.
Able to work in a collegial and cooperative manner with other professionals in the Athletics Department and other University Departments.
Excellent organization and attention to detail. Willing to and able to maintain accurate and timely logs and documentation. Knowledge of the principles of budget development and monitoring.
Able to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with good judgment, discretion and tact.
Able to travel to off-site weekday and weekend events, including overnight and multi day events.
Able to effectively use the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) and administrative software including (Banner and Front Rush)
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Able to drive a vehicle and maintain a safe and insurable driving record through duration of employment.
