Responsible for day to day operations of the equipment room to include interfacing daily with our athletes, coaches and administration, laundry service, inventory of equipment, and issuing equipment. Will also have responsibilities in event management for contests and events held within our facilities and facility preparations for events that take place within the department of intercollegiate athletics.
Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and Mid-American Conference. Conduct yourself in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the University and Athletic Department. Uphold the moral, ethical and professional aspects as a representative of the department.
Strong organizational skills required. Must be able to multitask, prioritize assignments, work independently and handle requests from supervisors in a positive manner.
Excellent communication skills and willingness to interact effectively with coaching staff and athletes on a daily basis.
Work schedule is varied and includes nights, weekends and holidays. Possible travel to selected team competitions for operational support. Need to stand or sit for long periods of time, moderate physical effort (regularly lift/move up to 100lbs, extensive bending, and reaching), and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Manage inventory of all equipment, footwear and apparel. Assist with fitting of athletic equipment and apparel for all student athletes. Assist with reviewing of purchases with vendors. Assist in overseeing maintenance and repair of all athletic equipment.
Supervise the execution of laundry services for athletic programs with emphasis on timely return of practice and competition gear and proper washing and drying to protect and extend life of apparel. Responsible for the washing and drying of laundry, packing team travel bags, equipment distribution and collection and inventory.
Assist with managing the department’s contract execution with footwear and apparel companies. Assist with implementing the departments and University’s branding efforts and style guide compliance.
Assist with field painting and general preparation of facilities for home athletic contests.
Assist with overseeing event management at intercollegiate athletic contests and other events scheduled within our facilities.
Assist with scheduling staff to work intercollegiate and other events that will take place in our facilities. Assist with training of staff who will be working as event staff home athletic contests and other events scheduled within our facilities.
