Responsibilities include: Assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program including, but not limited to: training design, implementation, and supervision of all throws events (shot put, discus, hammer, weight, and javelin), recruitment of prospective student-athletes, social media and public relations efforts, coordinating team travel arrangements, fundraising and alumni relations/events, meet preparation – home and away, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, coordinating team community service activities. The Assistant Coach will also carry out the responsibilities of the Head Coach in his/her absence.
Required Qualifications: Relevant playing and/or coaching experience with the throwing events as well as a Bachelor’s Degree are required. A valid driver’s license; and the ability and willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary are also required. Strong communication skills, initiative and good judgment are essential. CPR/AED Certification will be required within one month of starting.
Preferred Qualifications: New York State recruiting experience is preferred.
