The University of New Mexico Foundation at the University of New Mexico, an NCAA Division I institution and Mountain West Conference member, is seeking applications for the position of Director of Annual Giving for Athletics.
Under the direction of the Assistant A.D. for Development, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategies, policies and procedures, and goals and objectives related to the growth of a $3 million, 4,500 member annual fund; oversight of the Lobo Club annual membership drive (“Ambassador Program”); solicitation and stewardship of annual fund and major gift prospects; oversight of $3 million gift-in-kind program; expansion and management of the Lobo Club’s volunteer involvement; oversight of the Lobo Club renewal and solicitation efforts; and representation of UNM Foundation and UNM Athletics at University and community events.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and two years of applicable experience. Strong fundraising experience and volunteer coordination preferred. Experience in an athletic setting is preferred. As a UNMF, Inc. staff member, the selected candidate will be a person of integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies.
Must be able to drive personal vehicle for University and Foundation business (mileage reimbursed) and hold a valid driver’s license with current insurance, and a clean driving record. Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of criminal, driving record, and employment background screening. Some positions may also require credit background screening as well.

In order to develop private financial support for the University of New Me...xico, the University's Board of Regents established the UNM Foundation Inc. in 1979, in the form of a separately legal incorporated nonprofit corporation.
The Foundation began operations in the spring of 1980 conducting all of its operations through a University department, Office of Institutional Advancement. At that time, University units hired development professionals and limited staff to provide direct fund raising and other support to programmatic initiatives for philanthropy. Since its creation and in accordance with University policy, all private gifts are received through the Foundation, which has the responsibility for managing contributions to all University programs.
